Marcus was founded in 1871.
The main line of the Canadian National Railroad skirts the north edge of Marcus; and just one and a half miles east of our city limits, is a 92 million gallon ethanol plant, Little Sioux Corn Processors LP.
During the second weekend of each August for more than seventy-three years, Marcus provides the community and the area with one of the finest fairs in all Northwest Iowa. Traditionally, the largest and best-attended function throughout the calendar year.
Marcus Economic Development Corporation takes pride in our town is responsible for creating a town and business friendly community to attract new businesses to our community. Here is their latest project - an attraction to our downtown.
