  RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All entries must be entered in the name of the person who made them.
Entries must have been completed since September 1, 2011
2. Each exhibitor may have only one entry in each class.
3. All sewing exhibits should be on hangers within plastic bags.
4. Sweepstakes Award will be awarded to exhibitor with most blue ribbons
in each department.  A "Best In Class" Award will be selected
by the judge and given in each department and in each age division
for both Fancy Work and Sewing departments.
5. Judging of  both FANCY WORK and SEWING  will begin 
Friday at 9:00 AM until completed.
Exhibitors are encouraged to come watch the judging
6. NO FRAMED PICTURES.
7. Not responsible for prize money or ribbons after taken from
the department.
8. No soiled or torn articles will be judged.
9. Articles must be picked up between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on
Sunday. NO SOONER AND NO LATER !
10. One Exhibit in each division only.  Classes and prize money are 
the same for all categories.
Senior Citizen Division - 65 & over
Adult Division - 18 to 65
Teenage Division -  13 to 17
Children Division - Up to and including age 12
11. There will be one first, second and third in each class.  Prizes
are as follows:   First - blue ribbon and $1
Second - red ribbon and .50
Third - white ribbon and .25

OPEN BUCKET - BOTTLE CALF SHOW

COMMITTEE - Rod Ogren, Kirk Letsche

Purpose: 

     To design a cattle project to fit the physical and maturity level of younger youth and  

     to provide a better understanding of the feeder calf industry.

 

Rules:

     1.   Project is open to all youth that have completed kindergarten through

           age 11 as of July 1, 2011.

     2.   Calves must be purchased and in possession of the youth within two

           weeks of birth. Any newborn or orphaned calf, steer or heifer, dairy or

           beef, purebred or crossbred, calved in 2011. Bull calves will be allowed

           to show at the Fair.

     3.   Calf may be bucket or bottle-fed.

     4.   Calves do not need to be ear tagged or entered before the Fair.

     5.   All calves will be shown at halter and should be clean and groomed.

     6.   Calves will be brought to the Fair on the day of showing and return home

            the same day.

BEEF COW/CALF SHOW

COMMITTEE - Rod Ogren, Kirk Letsche

Rules:

     1.  Any age cow with calf at her side, shown at halter.

     2.  Calf must be born after January 1, 2011.

     3.  The cow and calf may be brought to the Fair on the day of the show: Saturday, 

          August 13, and return home the same day.

 

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion Cow/Calf Pairs trophy sponsor:

COUNTY BORN CHAMPIONSHIPS - BEEF

COMMITTEE - Rod Ogren, Kirk Letsche

Rules:

     1.  One cash award for each sex, males and females.

     2.  Selections to be determined by the Beef Judge after regular championships are 

          selected.

     3.  This award includes yearling cattle and 2011 spring-born calves.

     4.  Entries must be born in Cherokee County, but not limited to producer ownership 

          at the time of the 2011 Marcus Community Fair.
